ONNA JOSHIKA (she/her) - PERSONAL TRAINER / YOGA
Hometown: Spanaway, Washington
Athletic History: I’ve been a runner for as long as I can remember and track has always been my main sport. After participating at the college level, I decided to pursue an athletic career as a high school coach for both track & field and cross-country. Training female athletes has always been my passion, and inspired me to start an all-girls club track team in the greater Seattle area. Since then, I’ve expanded my client base to include women of all ages, focusing on a well rounded approach to fitness including running, weight training, mobility and breathwork. As I transitioned from coaching high school athletes to coaching women, I also began to explore my other passions, including cold-pressed juice and my clothing line, Gym Girls Only.
Coaching Background: I began coaching in 2016. Over my 8-year career, I’ve served as the head coach of track and field at three high schools: Renton High, Newport High, and Holy Names Academy. In 2023, I transitioned to training women in fitness. My goal as a personal trainer is to equip my clients with the tools to sustain their fitness journey.
Favorite Athletic Activities: Long runs, yoga, and attending live sporting events
Favorite Non-Fitness Activities: Cuddling my cats, trying new food, & being near water
What I Wish I Knew When I Started Training: Understanding the importance of the ankles can significantly enhance your training and overall posture. Recognizing that the position of the ankle is crucial in most lifts and activities can lead to tremendous improvements in your fitness journey.
